LARE Time

After graduate school, I relished my new-found freedom from exams, papers, & projects. That time has now come to an end; I am in the middle of preparing to sit for my Landscape Architect Registration Exam. On October 14th, my two-year apprenticeship period was complete. On December 5th & 6th, I will be taking the hardest two sections of the […]

My New Garter Snake Friend

I met this little snake the other day leaving my office, so I snapped his photo. Then, when I got home, I did the strangest thing; I looked up snakes in a book instead of the internet. Did you know they have information in books too? Anyway, I think I’ll call this Garter Snake Rover, but I sure hope I […]

Day at the Beach

This past weekend Rob and I headed to the beach to play some frisbee. We both *mistakenly* thought now that September’s almost over, the weather is cooler. Au contraire! We were the only people on the beach in long pants and it was HOT! The sand, the sun, we looked like crazy people in jeans…wait, that’s pretty close to the […]

Another weekend…*poof*

This weekend was way too short. It’s unacceptable. Texas, Trixie, and I were completely lazy. We didn’t get very many things done that required a lot of energy. We did see A LOT of movies though. Too bad “Seeing a lot of movies” wasn’t on my weekend’s agenda.

Bye Ophelia!

Ophelia has come and gone with much ado here in the Northeastern corner of South Carolina. Horry County schools were closed for two days, as were some local businesses were closed. Ophelia mainly delivered massive amounts of rains and some wind here; there’s lots of brush everywhere, but very little damage. This very gloomy picture taken Tuesday at 6:30 pm […]

The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel

Last night, Rob took me to see The Exorcism of Emily Rose (or did I take him, hmm…) I loved the movie, but I’m a sucker for god vs. satan horror; my favorite movie ever is The Omen. As this movie claims to be based on true events, I put together a little list of links that refer to the […]

Saturday

This morning I went to the MUST SEE event of the year, er….week–South Carolina’s Largest Garage Sale. It’s held in a 4-story parking garage by the Pavilion Amusement Park. I bought one of the most seriously bizarre pictures I’ve ever seen–for a dollar. I should post a picture of this unique find; it is completely perplexing to me, and maybe […]

Rainbows & Hurricanes

With all of the crazy and terrifying weather happenings going on right now, I tend to look up at the sky a lot more. Yesterday, while driving up to Shallotte, NC to see Redeye (great thriller btw), I was watching the crazy cloud formations only to discover a tiny rainbow. As we drove further North, more of the rainbow became […]

Rob’s Haircut

Well, It has been quite awhile since I’ve posted. My life just keeps on getting busier & busier. My time is totally taken up by non-post-worthy activity. However, this past Friday, an epic event of groundshaking proportions took place. My boyfriend got his haircut. before: AFTER!!!!! I have to admit that I was quite shocked at first; now that my […]

Alligator Adventure

Yesterday, I took an afternoon fieldtrip to Alligator Adventure with my mom & cousin–Kalliemarie. It was hot, hot, hot but we had a lot of fun as we melted. They have 800 alligators that range in size from babies to huge 13′ adults that weigh 500-600 lbs, UTAN the 20′ “King of the Crocs,” and many other reptiles, birds, river […]

NC Watermelon Festival II

This past Saturday, we went to the NC Watermelon Festival in Fairbluff, NC. The day was rainy, so many of the pictures are gray. All-in-all we had a really fun day. My favorite part of the festival was the parade. It began with all of the emergency vehicles of Fairbluff, followed by 15 tractors of various types, 30 beauty queens, […]
