Our First Wedding Anniversary

On Sunday, April 19th, 2009, Rob and I our first wedding anniversary–the paper one. We were really lucky that some of our family members were able to come over to our apartment and celebrate with us. We made everyone try our year old cake, which was actually quite tasty.

Pretty Cake
The cake with our toppers-the glass ant & spider. The icing was sort of mangled from being wrapped up & frozen, but it was good!

Rob’s Grilled Chicken

Last night, Rob cooked our meal all by himself. We had grilled chicken (with Richard’s spicy sauce), corn on the cob, salad, and a really good bread with some dipping sauce. We also used our wedding china. Everything was sooo good and tasty!

The Chicken Dance Refresher

Two weeks ’til…

For all of you attending the festivities on April 19th, I offer this refresher course (courtesy of Eliza’s Wedding on 12/09/06). Because I’ve seen the list of people coming, and you are ALL expected to be on the floor for this one!!! And as the video proves, anyone can get over looking stupid. Especially if it’s over a year ago…

Just have another drink to loosen you up for this one!

Wedding China

As some of you may know, I’m getting married on April 19th. Well, I’m really excited right now. Some of our wedding gifts have started rolling in, and I would like to rave about my china–Taika by iitala. I just picked it out because I really liked the graphics, but I hadn’t seen it in person. Mom and Dad have given me and Rob a few place settings, and here are the pictures. It’s really gorgeous stuff! The colors are beautiful, the graphics are fun, the heft of each dish is good.

I can’t wait to start using this stuff!

Wedding Cake Topper: Glass Insects

Some of you may know that I am currently planning my wedding. The big event is going to occur April 19th, a date that is getting closer & closer! You can check everything out at www.suzanneandrob.com. As you can tell from the wedding website, the theme for our wedding is, “Spring.” I am using insects, grass, and the color green to evoke this theme. (Green is also handy as Rob’s birthstone and my birthstone are both green — Emerald & Peridot.) Recently, I purchased our cake toppers from Russia; they’re handmade glass insects. Rob wants to be the spider, so that leaves me to be the ant.

Engagement Ring

I’m Engaged

Rob and I have sort of secretly been planning a wedding for awhile now. But on Wednesday night, Rob made it official by proposing at Stool Pigeons at Broadway (where we first met). He gave me a little white gold band with emeralds (his birthstone); it’s a very simple ring, and I love it. We can now officially announce that we’re going to get married on April 19th on the beach in North Myrtle. The wedding will be around 4:30 with a reception to follow at the House of Blues from 5-8ish. I’m not sure about a honeymoon yet; we’ll see how our finances are looking. We also have a corny website www.suzanneandrob.com where we will also be posting all the info.
