Monster Movie

I just saw Cloverfield, and I loved it. I was never really into monster movies because they beg you to suspend a massive amount of disbelief. However, Cloverfield was filmed via a handheld camera; it really helped to create a plausible believability. I find myself imagining a similar scenario in my locale, trying to figure out a plan of action and escape. Is that distant low hum I hear the sound of a boat speeding down the waterway, or the calls of an alien creature loosed upon the shores of Myrtle Beach.
