About this Site

First there was Julepstyle.com.  Then there was ChampagneThursday.com.
Now they are one.

In all seriousness, this is really just my website. I began Julepstyle.com in 2005 as a place for me to put recipes, crafts, pictures of fun things, pictures of my family, etc. After seeing Failure to Launch (and yes–I’m freely admitting that I watched that movie), I decided Champagnethursday.com was a better domain name. The name comes from a bit of dialogue between the characters of Kit (played by Zooey Deschanel) and Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker):

Kit: Good news. It’s Champagne Thursday.
Paula: It’s Friday.
Kit: Uh, yeah, it came twice this week.
Paula: For the third straight week.
Kit: There’s talk of making it permanent.
Paula: Oh, kind of like Daylight Saving’s Time?.
Kit: Right, but for booze.

Champagnethursday strikes me as the right name for a blog about my life. It’s all mundane stuff, but I try to have a lot of fun doing it all. Celebrating the ordinary. I kept Julepstyle because I thought that one day I may be able to sell my crafts under that name.

And now we’ve come full circle. Both domain names point to the same place. It’s julepstyle ala champagnethurday. Or Champagnethursday ala Julepstyle. The name is irrelevant. What matters is that I am a proud Southern daughter, sister, friend, and wife (newest title) who likes to drink champagne, make crafts, decorate the house, play with pets, hang out with the husband, eat tasty treats, and spend time with the family. Sometimes I document these adventures; I’m trying to be better about that part. Enjoy!
