This past weekend, I travelled south to Savannah to have a Leo Birthday celebration with Claire McKay (August 4), Erin (Aug 11), Erin’s Mom (Taurus), Lisa (Aquarius), Grace (Aquarius), and me (Aug 1). We had a fabulous time. For dinner we went to Garibaldi’s AND IT WAS AWESOME! After dinner we went to a club and did a lot of […]
Rob and I met this very showy lady this past weekend. She was there, beside our door, Saturday morning and she didn’t leave until Saturday night. Very impressive look. More information about the Imperial Moth, aka Eacles imperialis, can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eacles_imperialis
This past weekend, Erin, Jesse, Duke (the German Shepherd), Rob, and I went camping at Taw Caw Campground at Lake Marion. Although initially we were worried about the weather, the heat, and bugs; all our worries proved to be unfounded. We had a blast camping at Taw Caw. We were the only tent campers there, but we had a campsite […]
Last night while Kalli and I were waiting on dinner, we made this awesome installation on the kitchen bar. We used paper towels, loquat seeds, a dog treat, green post-its, potato chips, dark chocolate hershey’s kisses, and the ant that was on top of my wedding cake (in lieu of the glass ant that got thrown away). It’s a pretty […]
During my first year at Duke, one of my dear friends (David) took a trip to China with a Duke vocal group. He brought me back these souvenirs: Barf bag from Air China, my own personal little red book, and some Chinese currency. He also crocheted me my favorite hat ever on the airplane trip over there. I wore that […]
Everyone who reads this blog knows I haven’t posted in quite some time; they also know this is because i just recently got married. I promise to be a more dutiful blog updater from now on.
We must all keep our fingers crossed for a lovely day! (especially from 4:30-5)
This is one of those found objects that truly puzzles me. Why did I hold on to this, “Behavior Contract?” I feel like it was for my 9th grade orchestra trip to NYC. Did I turn one in at all? Oh well, here’s another great found object.

On Sunday (February 10), Mama and me made it down to Brookgreen gardens to see the much anticipated Silent Cities Tour. The tour is described as: Walk through former slaves and plantation owners’ graveyards and hear about the historical burial customs of European and African origin. It was actually a very cool little trip, and a beautiful day!
It’s hard to believe that my little sister has already been married a year. This past Saturday, Elizabeth & Seth stopped by for dinner and a mini celebration. They brought a bottle of bubbly and the top tier of their wedding cake (as custom dictates). We all raised a glass and tasted the wedding cake. (I’ve always wondered what year […]
It’s cold outside; Texas & Trixie say go back to bed!
I’ve put up my first ever full-size Christmas tree. It’s a retro aluminum tree with a color wheel light. It’s so pretty (even if I do say so myself)! Look for the sputnik tree topper competition later on Julepstyle.
