Embroidered Dish Towel

August 20th, 2008

I embroidered this hand towel for one of my fellow Leo’s Birthday Present. I’m not sure exactly, but I think it needs a pair!

Kansas He-Man Pot Roast

August 12th, 2008

I don’t like to do much cooking in the summer that doesn’t involve a grill. However, this pot roast uses a slow cooker and is easy to make. If you don’t think of it as the perfect summer food, let this be a prelude to the autumn that lies before us.

This is such a tasty dish; the photographs are a little weird though!

Healthy(er) Mega Meat Pesto Pizzas

February 6th, 2008

Erin has contributed a new recipe to the Julepstyle recipe database. (We’re still working on the complete transformation of the site, but changes are coming!) It’s for some really yummy pizzas. And even though I’m writing this in the morning, I’m craving some of her Pizza!

Change is Going to Come

January 24th, 2008

Well, some of you may know that julepstyle was never meant to be my own personal blog. It was originally intended to be a collaboration between cool Southern gals (first my best friend Erin and me, but then expanding to include more ladies) about crafts, food, and staying cool down South. Well, the time has come for julepstyle to realize this potential.

I am copying my personal blog to champagnethursday.com. If you want to see what I’m doing personally, or my review of a movie, or whatever, you can go there. Recipes, crafts, and other Southern things will be staying at julepstyle. And get ready for Erin’s contributions, because she has been crafting for years. Additionally, we will be adding a shop to this site. You’ll be able to buy our handmade gifts or vintage finds.

I hope everyone is as excited about these changes as I am. Julepstyle is on a path to world domination, right?

Christmas Presents: Round Five - Dad’s Presents

January 15th, 2008

I had a lot of fun making Dad’s Christmas presents:

Knitted Throw

Etched Glasses (One side is monogrammed; the other side has his college mascots–the Wofford Terriers)

Christmas Presents: Round Four - Glasses

January 10th, 2008

Etched glasses for the Coulter’s with their name, stars, and flowers
(thank goodness there’s only 3 of them because I accidentally broke one of the star glasses when I was washing it!)

Etched martini’s for Eileen and Richard–a sea theme for their beach house!

Christmas Presents: Round 3 - Scarves

January 9th, 2008

Knitted Scarf for Seth:

Knitted Scarf for Kalli (Clemson Colors):

Christmas Presents: Round 2

January 8th, 2008

Now that Christmas has come & gone, it’s time to start posting all the great handmade items that I made this year:

Knitted Throw for Rob’s Mom:

Etched Glasses for Eliza:

These glasses say Cheers in 4 different languages (Prost, Kampai, & Salut).

Etched Glasses, Exhibit A: Aircraft Registration Number Gift

December 20th, 2007

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Well, today I am dispensing the first of my handmade Christmas presents. Exhibit A:

Etched Glasses for my Boss

I etched these glasses with the registration number of his plane. I really hope he likes them when I give them to him today (also included in the package is a bottle of libations to enjoy in above glasses).
